Reform & Revolution is coming in hot for the 2025 YDSA Convention! Through regional chapter experiments, a strong campaigning approach with united front politics, and constructing strong pipelines, we seek to build YDSA into the youth wing of the socialist party the working class deserves. To do so, we are running three candidates for the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) and presenting four resolutions for the 2025 YDSA Convention.

Our Platform

  1. Building the Youth Wing of a Socialist Party
    • With the need for a working class socialist party comes the need for a youth wing of that party that can organize general working class youth in our communities and spaces while also further tying YDSA to our parent organization DSA as a proper youth organ of a future socialist party.
  2. Campaigning for a Larger and More Diverse YDSA
    • We grow YDSA through strategic campaigns centered on transitional demands that engage the multi-racial, gender-diverse working class bringing them to revolutionary conclusions, developing them into YDSA leaders, and building the socialist movement.
  3. Developing Stronger Pipelines for the Future Vanguard
    • YDSA is the training ground for those who will make up the future revolutionary vanguard; for this reason we must ensure that as leaders in YDSA we construct two incredibly important pipelines: one into DSA and another into the labor movement.

Our NCC Candidates

  • Daniel S-C is running to be your YDSA NCC Co-Chair
    • Having started his organizing at Florida International University in 2022, Daniel played a leading role in running fighting campaigns for academic freedom, trans rights, and solidarity with Palestine.
    • Throughout his term on the 2024-2025 NCC, Daniel has: closely mentored more than a dozen chapters across the country; focused on the execution of our national campaigns in solidarity with Palestine and struggle for sanctuary campuses through the Palestine Committee; liaised with the Activist to turn it into an organ of political education and debate within YDSA; and served as co-chair of the Youth Electoral Committee.
  • Sofia B is running to be an At-Large member of the YDSA NCC
    • Serving as co-chair of Rollins College YDSA from 2023-2025, she oversaw the chapter’s Palestine solidarity and reproductive justice work and helped win demands such as access to free textbooks and free and reduced-cost Plan B on campus.
    • Currently the co-chair of the YDSA National Communications Committee, Sofia works to craft YDSA’s public image and communicate our campaigns to a wide audience of youth, ensuring the continued growth of our organization. She is also experienced in advising members, through her work facilitating workshops at YDSA conference and having served as a coach for the 2024 Fall Drive through the Youth Growth & Development Committee.
  • Eli K is running to be an At-Large member of the YDSA NCC
    • Having served as co-chair of UW-Milwaukee YDSA from 2024-2025 they played a leading role in their chapter’s involvement in campaigning in solidarity with Palestine. Eli has also organized on a regional level, serving as co-chair of MKE YDSA, mentoring and liaising with local chapters, coordinating actions aimed at Milwaukee youth.
    • They have also mentored chapters on a national level through their work as chair of trainings on the Youth Growth and Development Committee.

Our Resolutions and Amendments

  • R25 - Building the Youth Wing of a Socialist Party: the Next Step
    • We are striving to build YDSA, the youth wing of a socialist party– a youth wing inclusive of all youth, not just students. To figure out how to do so in the most effective manner, we are proposing that YDSA national empower at least three chapters to experiment with regional-formations: chapters that fall on regional lines instead of strictly campus-based boundaries.
  • R22 - For Coalitions that Strengthen YDSA
    • When engaging in mass movements and organizing, oftentimes we find ourselves working alongside non-socialist organizations; to lead campaigns in such a way that wins over people to class-struggle politics and YDSA, we must employ the tactic of the United Front. This resolution would establish five points for chapters to follow when engaging in coalition work, and serve as a guide for national leaders and staff when advising chapters on the coalitional matters.
  • R9 - Developing a Diverse YDSA Through Political Means
    • A product of a merger between resolutions from Reform & Revolution and YDSA’s Chapter Health and Intersectionality Committee (CHIC), this resolution sets a course for building YDSA into the multiracial, gender-diverse organization the working class deserves. We understand that to do so, chapters must engage in organizing that builds up the credibility of our organization as an emancipatory vehicle for marginalized communities. A product of the merger of two resolutions, this resolution will lay out the path towards an intersectional organizing approach through campaigns and intentional leadership development; it shall also task various national bodies with building up these skills in chapters across the country.
  • R17 - For a Strategic Campaign Committee
    • We believe that a strong campaigning approach is one of the central steps in participating in mass organizing , fomenting revolutionary consciousness, and building YDSA into the organization working-class youth deserves. Through this resolution, we’d create a Strategic Campaign Committee which would help chapters in building up the skills to carry out healthy and effective campaigns, while also serving as the committee to house work related to any future national campaigns.
